Fire Territory hearings and vote

Paying our first responders a competitive market rate requires changes to the existing Fire Territory structure serving Harris Township.
Changes must be approved in the first quarter in order to become effective 1/1/2027. A tax increase would accompany such a change.

Hearings and votes related to such changes are scheduled:
Monday, February 16, 2026 starting at 5:30 PM. At 5:15, the Harris Board will meet to consider the 2025 Annual Financial Report (AFR).
Monday, March 9, 2026 starting at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM — hearings #2 and #3
Tuesday, March 24, 2026 starting at 5:30 PM. Votes.

Meetings will be held in conjunction with other units at the Moose Family Center, located at 123 Bain Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
