The township has no authority related to issues of water or sewer.

Within City of Mishawka limits, the city provides water and sewer services

Outside city limits, the default source of water is a private well, and sewer water is directed to a private septic system.
The county health department maintains related regulations.

The Granger business district, as defined by the St. Joseph County Regional Water & Sewer District, somewhat recently required businesses and homeowners is designated areas to connect to a sewer system are a cost borne by the user.
The County Health Department has been testing water in Granger. They plan to continue, and to analyze the results with citizen input.

The general lack of fire hydrants in Harris Township poses a fire protection challenge.
